Toronto Tamil Book Fair A Landmark Celebration of Tamil Literature, Language, and Cultural Unity
Toronto, Ontario – The Toronto Tamil Book Fair marks a historic milestone as the first event of its kind in Canada. The United Sri Lanka Muslim Council of Canada (USLMCC) and the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) are community partners for this initiative. This landmark fair celebrates the power of language, literature, and creativity that continue to connect Tamil-speaking communities in Canada and around the world.
Tamil is more than a language; it is a living heritage. Ranked among the world’s top ten classical languages, Tamil carries more than 2,500 years of literary and cultural legacy. It holds official, national, or administrative status in ten countries and is spoken by more than eighty million people across sixty-five nations. The Toronto Tamil Book Fair (TTBF) proudly honours this remarkable journey of linguistic endurance and artistic expression.
Our vision is to advance Tamil language, literature, science, and cultural heritage by creating an inclusive space that promotes participation and accessibility for everyone. The fair aims to unite all Tamil speaking peoples in Canada and around the world, while encouraging global knowledge exchange, social harmony, and reading
The two-day event will showcase books, publications, and creative works from Tamil speaking communities across the globe including Eelam Tamils, Muslims, Up-Country Tamils, Tamils from Tamil Nadu (India), Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, South Africa and other parts of the diaspora. The Book Fair will also open new avenues for dialogue and collaboration between Tamil speaking communities, highlighting shared histories and collective aspirations for peace and progress, both in Sri Lanka and across the diaspora.
The TTBF will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, and Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Malvern Family Resource Centre, 90 Littles Road, Scarborough, Ontario. Visitors can look forward to book launches, author talks, and panel discussions that celebrate the vibrancy and depth of Tamil literary and artistic traditions.
Publishers and writers are invited to participate by registering for a table to showcase their work or to register for book launch opportunities through TTBF.

டொரோண்டோ தமிழ் புத்தக அரங்கம் – 2025, கனேடிய வரலாற்றில் முதன்முறையாக நடைபெறவிருக்கும் தமிழ் பேசும் மக்களை ஒருங்கிணைக்கும் மாபெரும் இலக்கியப் பண்பாட்டு பெருவிழாவாக அமைகின்றது. இந்நிகழ்வின் சமூகப் பங்காளர்களாக கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை (CTC) மற்றும் ஐக்கிய இலங்கை முஸ்லிம் பேரவை – கனடா (USLMCC) இணைந்துள்ளன. இந்நிகழ்வு உலகம் முழுவதும் பரந்துவாழும் தமிழ் பேசும் சமூகங்களை மொழி, இலக்கியம் மற்றும் பண்பாட்டின் வழியாக ஒருங்கிணைக்கும் ஒரு அரிய நிகழ்வாக அமையவிருக்கின்றது.
தமிழ் என்பது ஒரு மொழியைத் தாண்டி உயிர்ப்புடன் இருக்கும் பண்பாட்டு பாரம்பரியமாகும். உலகில் செம்மொழி அந்தஸ்த்து வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ள பத்து செம்மொழிகளில் ஒன்றாக மதிக்கப்படும் தமிழ் 2500 ஆண்டுகள் நீடித்த இலக்கிய மற்றும் பண்பாட்டு மரபைக் கொண்டுள்ளது. தமிழ் மொழி பத்து நாடுகளில் அதிகாரப்பூர்வ, தேசிய அல்லது நிர்வாக மொழியாக அங்கீகரிக்கப்படுள்ளதோடு, அறுபத்தைந்து நாடுகளில் எண்பது மில்லியனுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்களால் பேசப்படுகிறது. டொரோண்டோ புத்தக அரங்கம் எங்கள் செழுமையான மொழியின் நிலைத் தன்மையையும், கலை நயத்தையும், மக்கள்களை ஒருங்கிணைக்கும் ஆற்றலையும் பெருமையுடன் போற்றுகிறது.
இந்த புத்தக அரங்கத்தின் நோக்கம் தமிழ் மொழி பேசுகின்ற பல்வேறு மக்கள்களை தமிழ் மொழி, இலக்கியம், அறிவியல் மற்றும் பண்பாட்டு பாரம்பரியத்தின் அடையாளமாக ஒருங்கிணைத்தல், அவர்களது பங்களிப்பை தமிழ் மொழியின் பயன்பாடு, மேம்பாடு, நிலைத்த தன்மை, என்பவற்றை உறுதி செய்வதும், அவர்களது ஈடுபாட்டை அதிகரித்தலுமாகும். உலகத் தமிழர்களை ஒன்றிணைத்து இந்த இலக்குகளை அடைவதே இந்நிகழ்வின் உன்னதமான தூரநோக்காகும்.
இரு நாள் நிகழ்வாக நடைபெறும் இந்த புத்தக அரங்கத்தில் ஈழத் தமிழர்கள், முஸ்லிம்கள், மலையக தமிழர்கள், இந்தியாவின் தமிழ்நாடு, மலேசியா, சிங்கப்பூர், மொரீஷியஸ், தென்னாப்பிரிக்கா உள்ளிட்ட உலகம் முழுவதிலுமுள்ள தமிழ் பேசும் சமூகங்களின் புத்தகங்கள், வெளியீடுகள் மற்றும் படைப்புகள் காட்சிப்படுத்தப்படவுள்ளன. இந்தக் கண்காட்சி, உலகத் தமிழர்களுக்கிடையேயான உரையாடல் மற்றும் ஒத்துழைப்பிற்கான புதிய வாய்ப்புகளை உருவாக்கி, இலங்கையிலும் புலம்பெயர் தமிழர் சமூகத்திலும் அமைதி மற்றும் முன்னேற்றத்திற்கான ஒற்றுமையை வலியுறுத்துவதாக அமையும்.
டொரோண்டோ தமிழ் புத்தக அரங்கம் 2025 டிசம்பர் 6 (சனிக்கிழமை) மற்றும் 7 (ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை) திகதிகளில் Malvern Family Resource Centre, 90 Littles Road, Scarborough, Ontario வில் நடைபெறவுள்ளது. இரு நாட்களிலும் புத்தக வெளியீடுகள், எழுத்தாளர் உரைகள், கலந்துரையாடல் அமர்வுகள் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு நிகழ்ச்சிகள் இடம்பெறவுள்ளன.
பதிப்பாளர்கள் மற்றும் எழுத்தாளர்கள் தங்கள் படைப்புகளைப் காட்சிப்படுத்த புத்தக மேசை ஒன்றை பதிவு பதிவுசெய்துகொள்ள முடியும். அதேபோல புத்தக வெளியீட்டு வாய்ப்புக்களை பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவும் பதிவு செய்யலாம்.
