A Historic coming together to celebrate Tamil
December 9, 2025 – The inaugural Toronto Tamil Book Fair, held on December 6 & 7, 2025 at the Malvern Family Resource Centre in Toronto, marked an unforgettable milestone in Canada. As an event collectively organized by Tamil speaking communities in Canada, this landmark event opened a new chapter for Tamil literature. With the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) and the United Sri Lanka Muslim Council of Canada (USLMCC) as Community Partners, the fair proudly celebrated our language in a way that rose above differences in religion, nationality, background, and belief. Under one roof, everyone stood united by a shared love for Tamil.
Across two vibrant days, the fair welcomed an impressive crowd despite the harsh weather. The energy inside the venue never faded. Six new books were published and launched onsite, while numerous Tamil authors, writers, and publishers engaged with readers throughout the event. The overwhelming response showed us the growing hunger for books, ideas, and storytelling in our community. We witnessed a rare and powerful moment: a community standing together with pride, responsibility, and hope. The Toronto Tamil Book Fair didn’t just showcase books, it showed the strength of Tamil identity and the beauty of a community that chooses unity over division.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this achievement possible. The unwavering commitment of the Advisory Committee and Organizing Committee shaped every detail of the fair. Supporting organizations, founding supporters, publishers, authors, and sponsors helped elevate the event to a national stage. Our media supporters amplified our message, and our dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for every attendee. Their collective effort transformed a vision into reality.

டொரோண்டோ தமிழ் புத்தக அரங்கம் 2025
தமிழை கொண்டாடிய வரலாற்றுச் சங்கமம்
2025 டிசம்பர் 8 – கனடாவில் பெருமைக்குரிய தருணமாக, டிசம்பர் 6 மற்றும் 7, 2025 ஆகிய திகதிகளில் டொரோண்டோவின் மல்வென் பமிலி ரிசோஸ் சென்டரில் நடைபெற்ற டொரோண்டோ தமிழ் புத்தக அரங்கம் மறக்க முடியாத ஒரு புதிய வரலாற்றை பாதித்துள்ளது. கனடாவில் உள்ள பல்வேறு தமிழ் பேசும் சமூகங்கள் இணைந்து ஒருங்கிணைத்த இந்த அரங்கம் தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தில் புதிய அத்தியாயத்தைத் ஆரம்பித்துள்ளது. இந்த நிகழ்வின் சமூகப் பங்காளர்களாக கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை (CTC) மற்றும் ஐக்கிய இலங்கை முஸ்லிம் பேரவை – கனடா (USLMCC) இணைந்து மதம், இனப்பாகுபாடு, பின்னணி, வேறுபட்ட நம்பிக்கைகளைத்தாண்டி தமிழ்மொழியை ஒன்றுபட்ட உணர்வுடன் கொண்டாடிய சிறப்புமிக்க நிகழ்வாக அமைந்திருந்தது. ஒரே கூரையின் கீழ் தமிழ்மொழி மீதான ஏகோபித்த பற்றே அனைவரையும் ஒன்றாக இணைத்திருந்தது.
இரு நாள்கள் முழுவதும் கடும் குளிர்காலத்தையும் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் மக்கள் பெருமளவில் கலந்து கொண்டு அரங்கத்தை உயிர்ப்புடன் நிறைத்திருந்தனர். ஆறு புதிய தமிழ் நூல்கள் இங்கு வெளியிடப்பட்தத்துடன், பல தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர்கள், பதிப்பாளர்கள் வாசகர்களுடன் அர்த்தமுள்ள உரையாடல்களில் ஈடுபட்டனர். இந்த நிகழ்வின்போது கிடைக்கப்பெற்ற மிகுந்த ஆதரவு நம் சமூகத்தில் புத்தகங்கள், சிந்தனைகள் மற்றும் கதை சொல்லலுக்கான அதிகரிக்கும் ஆர்வத்தை தெளிவாக வெளிப்படுத்தி இருந்தது. பெருமை, பொறுப்பு மற்றும் நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட ஒரு சமூகத்தின் அரிய தருணத்தை நாம் அனைவரும் நேரில் கண்டோம். டொரோண்டோ தமிழ் புத்தக அரங்கம் புத்தகங்களை மட்டுமல்ல தமிழரின் அடையாள வலிமையையும், பிரிவை விட ஒன்றிணைவதைத் தீர்மானிக்கும் சமூகத்தின் அழகையும் வெளிப்படுத்தியிருந்தது.
இந்த வரலாற்று நிகழ்வை சாத்தியமாக்கிய அனைவருக்கும் எங்களின் மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். ஆலோசனைக் குழு மற்றும் ஒருங்கிணைப்புக் குழுவின் அர்ப்பணிப்பு, அரங்கத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு நிகழ்வையும் சிறப்பாக வடிவமைத்திருந்தது. ஆதரவு அமைப்புகள், நிகழ்வை நிறுவுவதற்கான ஆதரவாளர்கள், பதிப்பாளர்கள், எழுத்தாளர்கள் மற்றும் அனுசரணையாளர்களின் ஒத்துழைப்பு இந்த அரங்கத்தை தேசிய மட்டத்துக்கு உயர்த்தியிருந்தது. ஊடக ஆதரவாளர்கள் நிகழ்வின் செய்தியை விரிவுபடுத்தியிருந்தனர். நிகழ்வில் தன்னார்வலர்கள் ஒவ்வொரு வருகையாளருக்கும் நினைவில் நிற்கும் அனுபவத்தை உருவாக்கியிருந்தனர். அவர்கள் அனைவரின் கூட்டு பங்களிப்பே இந்த கனவை நனவாக்கியுள்ளது.
டொரோண்டோ தமிழ் புத்தக அரங்கம் 2025 ஒரு புதிய வரலாறை படைத்திருந்தது. அதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக நீங்கள் அனைவரும் இருந்தீர்கள். தமிழையும், நமது மக்களையும், நமது இலக்கியப் பயணத்தையும் கொண்டாடியதற்காக இதில் எம்மோடு இணைத்துக்கொண்ட அனைவருக்கும் எமது நன்றி. இந்த மிகவு ஒரு ஆரம்பம் மட்டுமே. வருங்கால சந்ததிகளுக்காக தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கியத்தை உயர்த்திப் பாதுகாக்க நாம் தொடர்ந்தும் இணைந்து செயல்படுவோம்
